System Administrator/VTC Administrator

Overview:
The System Administrator/VTC Administrator will support a team of System Administrators in support of the IT and VTC Infrastructure maintained by the Presidio of Monterey (POM) Network Enterprise Center (NEC).

Tasks & Responsibilities:
• Provides Systems Administration for Windows Server 2012/2016 domain environment.  Note: Windows Server pending migration to 2019.
• Ensures servers and VTC infrastructure maintains compliance with DISA STGS
• Provides data backup and restoration tasks
• Supports the virtualized server environment utilizing VMWare
• Manages storage/capacity, deploys system patches, creates snapshot and templates
• Manages and troubleshoot Active Directory and controls user rights assignments
• Conducts baseline performance testing of servers and troubleshoot as needed
• Monitors event logs for trends and proactive troubleshooting
• Supports enterprise computer imaging services
• Manages fileshare, quotas, and permissions to network resources
• Performs other Systems Administrator tasks as necessary
• Provides support to the VTC environment which includes scheduling, initiating, troubleshooting, applying STIGS, and updating as needed

Minimum Required Skills, Education, Experience & Abilities:
• High school diploma or higher; there is no education substitution for a High School Diploma
• CompTIA Security+ certification (required)
• CompTIA Server+ certification, or similar (within 6 months)
• CCNA certification, or similar (within 6 months)
• At least five years of technical experience in information technology or information systems
• MCSA: Server 2012 or MCSA: Server 2016 or VMWare Certified Professional (preferred)
• Strong problem solving and research, and analytical skills
• Ability to take responsibility and ownership for a problem
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Skills, Education, Experience & Abilities:
• Microsoft SQL Server experience
• Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) experience

Security Clearance Requirements:
Must possess a Secret level security clearance. Successful candidate will have completed a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
